A question from da QuiZ iZ how would you mail a clone? Tried it once and the postal dept trashed it dispite the excessive labeling. Any help would be appreciated.

Insure it for $50. If they have to buy it they 'll be more careful with it.

Put the pot in a plastic bag and tie closed with the stem extending out. Use a twisty to close it to keep all the dirt inside the pot and bag. (tie as close to the top of pot as possible to keep dirt in.)
Secure the plastic pot and vine to a large piece of card board so the pot will not go anywherez on this big piece of cardboard, and the vines are supported but secured to the card board with twisty ties. Secure big piece of card inside the box with the vines, so no matter what direction nothing really moves or shifts. Guess could fill with peanuts to help insulate...Put on arrows on box as well...my thoughts......

I doubt they treat they treat the package diferently if it is ensured -- I mean they really don't take time to look for the insured tag befor they throw it off the truck. Also monster has it wrong, it my address you need on it! Seriously do as wiz says. Securing the plant is the key, else it will be a mangled mess. That also means making sure the pot/root ball is tight in the plastic bag -- tape it and glue it to corner of box! Overnight it if you can, so it doesn't sit in a 10F truck overnight -- don't need to tell you that is not good! Maybe mark it "live -- do not freeze" and check as live animals can be sent in heated containers -- know my worms came that way. Also if it was comming to me, frankly I would want just the cutting in a plastic bag with a tespoon of water -- no roots! It's lighter, less chance of damage, and growing root is easy!

I would not send any live plants until April or May. No matter how well you pack it they will die it is way to cold right now.
