You aren't the only one wanting the snow to go. A week ago in Iowa we broke the all time record for number of consecutive days with 4" or more of snow cover. We have now added a week to that record and it is snowing again. Forecast is for close to 8" by tomorrow. In the next week the highest forecast temp is just 26. I have seen more volumes of snow and colder temperatures, but this is the longest I have gone without seeing the grass. And there is no frost in my soil. The snow has insulated it.

No whining, my fields will still be water logged in May or June. Last year planting holes filled with water until 5/15. I will trade snow and cold for Enumclaw Plateau weather. (I did buy the wettest piece of ground around)You guys also get sunshine in the summer(the whole summer)Last year records were set all over the country. We just need to get luckier than all the others.

Horse, wetest place I know is where plumes from lake taps hit the river -- that is really deep clay! We actually had a wet winter here and we saw snow, but most of you will say that don't count LOL - I'll post pic in diary. But I don't feel bad as I lived in Michigan in the 70s and we used to bet when the snow would reach the top of the fence. I would say weather is getting back to normal.

We have had more days of continuous snow cover (as in 2" or more and not seeing ground unless you shovelled) than I think they've ever had here. We need moisture, but. Winters are NOT white here!

We had a foot of snow last Friday overnight and are expecting possibly the same over the next two days.

The Cleveland news is reporting on a study which says Cleveland has now been named Worst Winter Weather City in the United States.

Hey Doug, check with Ed Robinette...I think he planted a 1068 Wallace in the snow a couple years ago. I'm just saying...

Don't talk about snow. I am sitting here in Jersey waiting for the second blizzard in less then a week. Already have 24" on the ground from the weekend and now they are calling for 12-24" more! I am currently pushing my planting date to the golden window of the first week in July.

I dont know how much nitrogen is in the snow, But the Amish and some of the old school farmers around my patch will plow their fields during the first snow.
