Just curious if any one has ever grown Loofa Gourds? I googled them and they are very interesting!!

Yes my wife grows them all the time to eat and use as scrubbers. I eat them taste okay to me

They can be grown but they need hot weather. The maturatiy is 100 plus days with 120-140 being average.
Starting inside 4 weeks earlier than last frost date helps.
Putting in hoop house also helps.

Good luck in saskatchewan with loofa's. We tried several years just did not have the heat needed.
