If stored in room temp storage out of sunlight, how long will the kelp soluable maintain it's potency? On a side note, is there any difference in kelp or seaweed fertilizer? Thank you.

Hi Mark,
Seaweed or kelp stored as you mentioned should last indefinitely as long as it is sealed up well and doesn't draw moisture. The words seaweed and kelp are sometimes used interchangably. kelp usually refers to raw dried seaplant which is ground into a meal. Seaweed is most often used when talking about a dry powdered soluble product. The type of seaplant used and where it was harvested is probably the most important factor. A quality product should be made from "Ascophyllum Nodosum" from cold unpolluted waters. Norwegian seaweed or kelp is an example of a very high quality product. These days there are many cheap imitations imported from warm polluted waters and made from any kind of seaplant. Hope this helps
