Is there someone out there that can tell me about winter rye grass ? Do you cut it with a lawn mower and keep it short.Or let it get long and weed wack it when its time to till in ??

I let mine get 6 inches or so then I mowe it i try to cut it 3 or 4 times before opening patch when i get my additives put in.

I like to weed whip at around 6-8". Its amazing how fast it grows back to that height. I don't like to mow it with a lawn mower. It just tends to clog / collect under the mower deck. Till it in after a couple of good whippings.
