Good question Robert, I don't know the answer but I have been holding on to these seeds for their genetic potential. Someday I would like to cross some of these with one of the newer seeds. Might get a winner but it's a crap shoot. 2002 1047- 845 Bobier x 723 Bobier- same cross as 1097 Beachy 1037- 723 Bobier x 845 Bobier- same cross as 1367 Rose 996- Bobier-846 Calai x 845 Bobier
2003- 992 Bobier- (935 Lloyd x 996 Bobier) 973.5 Bobier- 845 Bobier sibbed) 932 Bobier- (723 Bobier x 845 Bobier) 665 Bobier- (723 Bobier x 846 Calai)

I'd like a 1225.5 Jutras 03, though I haven't been able to get hold of one...

Robert,
I like the 712 Kuhn, 846 Calai, and 845 Bobier to name just a couple. We're featuring some vintage genetics in our upcoming auctions, some by Dave Stelts, Jerry Rose, Bill Bobier, etc. My take is that, if we bring some of today's champions back into those older seeds, we reinforce them all the more.
I am anxious to find just the right time to grow the 808.5 Gibson(712 Kuhn x 846 Calai) again. it's the very first AG I ever grew and I got a 568-pounder out of it. Very solid, flawless fruit and very good plant. Perhaps this will be the year, as I have one more spot left.
Two years ago, I grew the 1005 Mombert, convinced that it was the real key to Dr. Bob's 664.5 and crossed it with Tom Privitera's 893 and produced a 718-pounder on a secondary vine. This year I grew that cross to 1197 pounds and crossed it with Quinn's 1521.5.
Next year, I will grow the 718 again and the cross I made with it and pollinate the 718 with another as yet unnamed pollinator.
I could ramble on for hours about older genetics. I like to grow them occasionally to see what might have become of them then using today's techniques and innovations.

Did someone mention old genetics? 2000 to 2007, hell that's fresh out of the womb. How about these crosses: 1370 x 827 Holland'92; 827 x 1420; 827 x 1332; or 998.6 x 827

It's hard to belive that the 827 Holland 02 was the WR back then. We've gone up 898 pounds in the past 17 years...
