If you get an email from me, frank finders saying : how are you? then dont open it.

We did not send any emails out and its probably infected.
So in your computers best intrest, delete it and do a virus scan.

Frank, ask Santa for a copy of Norton Internet Security...won't ever happen again.

Frank I received that email, scanned it with Norton's and it came up clean. I could tell by looking at it that it didnt look right. Not sure what kind of threat that email contained, but my Norton 360 didnt come up with anything threatening

Yep AVG and AVAST are good - thing is you also need to be sure where the E-mail comes from before clicking links in it. For example I got this E-mail .JPG image of Mail- ( http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/JDFanning_bucket/E-mail.jpg )today supposedly from my E-mail support team aking for me to reply and give them my password so they could update my system LOL !! yeah right.

Never click on a link on an unsolicited E-mail unless you are sure where it came from !!

Superantispyware is working EXCELLENTLY here (thanks Tom Privitera!) and I bought the subscription.

I also have an older version of free AVG but the Superantispyware is taking care of most everything.

Norton sometimes doesn't catch stuff unless you run it several times.

Bad one floating right now is adware.vundo ... its an adware juggler and some versions from third party site suppliers are nasty cra... with trojans and backdoor bot access.

Gmail when you look at the 'from list' and put the cursor over will show you the real email address (PayPal becomes 93Survey @ Pal.com or something like that). That alone helps me out greatly, not even having to open the email to sort what it is.

Thanks everyone. We have Superantispyware but we went ahead and installed AVAST to go along with it. :)

Has anyone had trouble with Superantispyware not closing properly? Whenever I reboot, I get the warning that Superantispyware wasn't closed properly. It was so annoying that I uninstalled it. Now I'm thinking I should reinstall.

Thoughts?

Never had that problem. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to load up but closing is never a problem. What I like about Superantispyware is that is's not the resource pig that some anti virus programs can be. Even when running real time protection, I don't experience delays or slowdown.
