Salty soil conducts more current. This is why we only pull samples 2 or more weeks before or after making a fertilizer treatment.

I thought conductivity in relationship soil pertained to water, that is, the ability for water to be absorbed from/to surounding soil? Example, when planting potted plants you want to mix some of the soil from teh pot with surounding soil to improve conductivity??? But then I do have some fog upstairs.

Both are interrelated which is why the electronic probes rarely work as advertised.
