Pete plant the seed that you think has potential to go healthy and heavy. I'm planting a Jutras 1507. Oliver 1375 and a Bobier 845. And yes you cant plant them all the same year thats what makes things interesting for the next year. Have some fun with it.

I grew a 475.5 Bourne (1689 Jutras x 1248 Ford). It started slow and grew slow, finally set, and was a slow grower. Did a nice looking fruit with HUGE stem but... slow was this one's mantra. Lonnie said the 1689 was like that for him, slow poke and small vine. It's about to be sacrificed and I bet it's a solid walled thing; but my .0000002 cents worth with 1689 as mama. All those other names with the quadruple digits... they know how to grow :)

Pete, I like that 1689 Jutras seed, it grows some great shaped pumpkins.

I grew a 1689 mine split at 700 lbs in August due to potassium deficiency. Was growing 30 lbs a day. I disagree about them having a good shape mine was really ugly and some other people who grew the 1689 will say the same.

OkieGal, what was the final weight of your 475.5 Bourne? Do you have a diary? Mine was slow starting off but it was growing a decent 4 inches a day for about two or more weeks when it split,so I don't know what to think.....whether to give it another try. I got 400 lbs out of mine before the split.
