Hi all,
Was wondering what is the most aggressive type of C.Pepo plant, that gives the highest yield of pumpkins under 10 pounds, for cooking?
I did a google search, and could not find much on the topic, or the information was all over the place.
Anyone here have experience with growing cooking pumpkins for pies, and other recipes, and versed in what is likely to be the plant that gives the most for its garden?

Meathead, if your part of the Aggc or know Mike, shoot him a email, hes really big into the smaller variety pumpkins and could probably answer this question pretty easy for ya.

Cushaws...or neck pumpkins give the highest tons per acre. You want something with a smooth non grainy flesh and sweet. Squash is better than pumpkin in my book for a pie any day.
