Does it matter what club that you join? I live in Texas and as far as I know there are no clubs here. Should I join the closest one or pick whichever club that I want to?

Most of the clubs will accept members from anywhere.
Joining a bigger longer established club gains you more friends, probably a better newsletter.... :) and usually a totally awesome promo/seed pack from club member donated seeds. I belong to two bigger larger older clubs as well; and trust me that's well worth it. (SNGPG and OGVG)
I'm part of a group in end of OK panhandle, we might be your closest weighoff... and you don't have to be a member to come to it.

The GVGO is another great one to join. Members from all over the world and last year's promo (free with membership) seed pack had about 40 different pumpkin seeds and others as well such as long gourd, sunflower, marrow, canteloupe and watermelon. www.gvgo.ca

There are many great clubs to join, some have message boards to research ideas, most have newsletters and some sort of seed distribution. most of us all belong to two or three. Highly reccommended to join up to at least one, the networking is great.
