hi i am a new grower that lives in Nevada. i grew my fist giant pumpkin 1 year ago and i watered it only form the root not the leaves because i taught that the sun would kill the leaves if they had water on them please help. thanks baum the garden master

If it's too hot in the summer, try to mist yours leaves very often with a timer during the day but if you want to water your plant ,it's better to avoid to wet the leaves. Wet leaves = disease like PM.

Misting lightly will lower the heat and slightly increase the powdery mildew. Since spraying for PM is mandatory anyway, deal with a couple more sprays. The net yield increase will be worth the effort.
