I Opened and dug out my 432 and 882 today....
the 432 had Hundreds of good seeds, while the 882 only had 36 good mature seeds.......I didnt see any immature seeeds.
What causes this low low low seed count?...she was a 5 lober.

Is this a genetic thing to watch out for in the future with this seed?

probably not a genetic thing, I haven't seen any correlation with my stuff over the years. it just happens. I had one with 6 seeds in it once.

So the higher the temp the lower the seed count?

Then I shouldn't have any; and I'm getting good counts. I'm seeing very few paperseeds or pips; most have been pretty full and nice lookers.

I've run the gamut with seeds so far. My 541.5 was had many hundreds of dirty white seeds, with about 3/5's of them being empty but large and fully formed. What a p-i-t-a to squeeze every seed and have to discard so many when I still had carving to do. My 476 squash had lots of little ones but many were cracked. Meanwhile a little genetic pumpkin I had has lots of big well formed seeds in it. I still have two more to go and need to collect some from one that was sold.

Jeremy, Genetics you say, maybe, I got a total of 68 seeds from the momma to your 882. That is very interesting. Were the seeds small and brown? John
