LOL!!! I got this in my email this morning. Seems that a 300 pounder makes me an "expert". Too damn funny!

Hi, my name is Annie and I'm the Assistant Editor for the Rancho Cordova Post. I was looking around for local giant pumpkins and I came across your website. I am wondering if you would like to either submit an article about your experiences growing these huge pumpkins, or if I could write an article about you and your pumpkins (either way would be great.) I saw that you had a 300 pound pumpkin at the Elk Grove festival, so I think it's safe to say you're an expert at growing them!
I can be reached either at [email protected] or at (916) 761-7440. I'd like to write a story before Halloween, but I think any time before Thanksgiving would be fine.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you!

Reporters are lazy generally. They'll let you do their work for them (for free) if you allow.
On the other hand; if you don't interject good factual information our story either doesn't get told or is told wrong by someone else.
CATCH 22! LOL
I deleted a half dozen emails from various local area newspapers so far this fall. The area pumpkin crops have been short due to rain during peak pollination &/or Bee Decline which accounts for the shortage of pie filling. Not my concern really but I help them if I can.
The NY area news outlets either already knew me or found out from NBC in NY via the producers of the TODAY show. I've been cultivating these contacts for 3 years so these I make sure to return their calls.
The GPC has a news release for weighoffs to use regarding Christy's WR. If you show at a GPC site, the site coordinator can help.
