Since mother nature waterboarded us and kept nightly temperatures in the 40's this past summer, I am announcing the opportunity to invest in the BPrice, Bliss, N.Y.,dome stadium for pumpkin growing. Nothing too fancy, just a few acres of climate controlled growing space. Of course, there will need to be super intense growing lights in the ceiling. Speaking of the ceiling, it should be retractable for nice weather ( should that happen in 2010).
Ohh.. across the ceiling, chain hoists on rails for loading pumpkins. A water warming setup and built in coolers and bbq's . A couple Lazy Boys for breaks, a Jumbotron connected to cameras ( and hd cable tv) to keep track of the AGs and a few port-a-potties ( don't want to strain the budget..lol).
Maybe this might qualify for stimulus monies?
Pap- I already considered the Ralph, but our Bills are suddenly winning, so that has been ruled out..Let us hope they continue to maximize the Ralph by more winning games... grin..
Besides astroturf might get slippery and sloppy with manure and compost on top for amendments..You would have to feel sorry for an earthworm trying to burrow through the stuff.. But on the other hand, the artifical turf might keep rodents away.
Well... we can fantasize about a perfect growing enviroment.. but in reality that honestly would take away all the fun and challenges growing in the "real world."
