I know nearly every grower on this site hates winter... Also, many of us grow our seeds inside during the winter. Though I'm just wondering, whats the largest House-Pumpkin you've ever grown? (Sorry for reminding you about winter, Lol)

In the winter of 2007-2008 I grew a smaller type pumpkin indoors with a simple hydroponic setup. It ended up being about 3-4 pounds and the variety can get up too 7-10 pounds. I let the vine grow up one of those 3 shelf metal racks. It was placed right next too a south facing sliding glass door and that was its only light source. A few days after I got my 2nd female started the tornado/tree incident happened. The hydroponic plant didnt survive. It was a fun project too do while waiting for outside too warm up.

In the winter of 2000 I think , I grew a single main vined AG plant in our 10ft kitchen window. By early spring it got to about 10 ft long ( it grew slow as the temp was cool near the window). I had no females on the plant but did fry up every male blossom that came on.Not sure why it never had a female on the plant also the leaves were no where near the size they get outside.
Now I consider winters a vacation from growing,LOL.

Due to the heat down hear I've thought about growing a semi house pumpkin here in the summer. Starting the vine outside in the dirt and training it in the doggy door to the air conditioned house.
