Well today was an AMAZING day at Shoreline weigh off today Dick Kilburns 1467 Perham went 35% heavy and weighed in at 1355#'s We retook the measurements just to make sure. We photoed each of the measurements and they came up still at 1002 #'s and the Kin set back on the scale and low and behold the weight was the same 1355#'s. This was truly AMAZING. I don't know of a pumpkin that has ever gone that heavy. I thought my 1370 Rose was something going 183#'s heavy at 960#'s. Nice Job again Dick What a pumpkin!!! 2) Mike Popps 1303 3) Stan Pugh 1146.5 4) Walt Perham 1074 5) Rick Maggi 1073

a 414" OTT pumpkin at 35% heavy = 2000 lbs a 419" OTT pumpkin at 30% heavy = 2000 lbs a 425" OTT pumpkin at 25% heavy = 2000 lbs a 433" OTT pumpkin at 18% heavy = 2000 lbs
it is these heavy genetic freaks that can get to the 2000 pound mark.

Dick, I knew when I saw that pumpkin in your patch that it was a beast. Congratulations on an excellent growing season. Not a bad improvement from last years 816.
Way to go.

Dick, congrats on your record for the county, the San Juan Islands, and as far as I can tell, the biggest ever grown on an island anywhere. Not bad considering you were complaining about broken vines from the winds this summer.
This was Dick's second year growing and he averaged 1144 pounds with his three taken to weigh-offs. What a sophomore year.

The 718.9 Gerchy is 1005 Mombert x 893 Privitera but, before everyone gets excited, I am going to tape the pumpkin myself. I know it will probably lose an inch or two by the time I get it done, but I think there was a snafu during the measuring process or weight calculation.
I had it taped at 1069 on Sept. 1st. It is a fine specimen nonetheless and I will grow it again as well as the cross next year. I think I have been pretty much starving my pumpkins.
I'll try to get it done this afternoon and post here.
