Since tensions seem very high here lately I thought everyone should read this quote from the 1776 thread and hopefully it will help us all relax a bit. I'd hope everyone can take away from this never to conclusively judge a person by what they type. Face to face is the only way to truely get to know someone.

I know myself I've "irritated" a few folks here lately and I'm sorry for that. If anyone takes anything I say or post too seriously....well then they should realize they don't know me well enough to judge. Lol. Right Brooks???!! :)

There are so many good points in SCTROOPER'S post I don't even know where to begin.

SCTROOPER: "LMAO, this thread has made me laugh out loud and raise and eyebrow at the same time, (no pun intended dave). I think when your reading words and not seeing someone's face or there body's it's kinda hard to understand what there trying to say. Me and North have been through this whole kinda thing before. I don't belive we should take people's post SO serious. Down south we say BITCH all the time, to men and women. It's kind of a term of enderment. If my friend walks up I say "whats up bitch". If I were to say that to someone in a post they would cuss me out. We all have our favorite growers and the one's we want to break the record, however you sure don't want to be eating crow if you have talk all this smack and your guys bust. This is a big time of the year for folks in this sports, and compition is part of it, I just don't think we should kill someone because his post doesn't hit us like he ment it to. One thing is CERTAIN, we have a new WORLD CHAMION, who beat EVERY grower thus far in the world. If she gets beat next week, no one can take away the fact that she was at one time in history the best there is."

I think that sums it up pretty well - it is hard to get the feeling of a post on the internet and it is always easy to be misunderstood (sarcasm etc. does not come across in a post so well ! (I would know as I tend to be pretty sarcastic at times and it has lead to misunderstandings at times with people I do not know or that do not know me.) - I'm sure there was no harm meant in any of the posts made in the mentioned topic.

The only thing I really hope is that all of the publicity and posts directed toward our new World Champion Grower and her success does not somehow make her lose the enjoyment and fun that she gets from the work that goes into the growing of a giant like that !! ( as that is really the most important aspect of this whole endeavor and the competition is just a means to get a bit more excitement into it and celebrate the achievements.)

From reading through her diary entries here on the site it is easy to tell that she has the right attitude toward the hobby and really enjoys the competition (both within the family and with other growers) and I can't think of anyone that deserves the success more.
