Is Scott Cully doing that carving of the 1725?

Christy,

Huge congratulations on your WR. The thing looks like Godzilla’s big orange mother.

I love to see Giant Jack-O-Lanterns, and I think that since you have grown the largest plant matter carving canvas known to human kind, it should fittingly become the World Largest Jack-O-Lantern too.

The 1725 has a good shape and looks sturdy enough to be to be propped up to be carved.

Are there plans for Scott Cully to carve it? He has done really good work with past records.

Anyway, once it is carved please take some good pictures of it too.

Also glad to hear you selfed it, I think keeping those genetics pure was a great idea.

I just drew up a rough draft for what I think would look very appropriate on the 1725 WR.

The design is called: “Gourdzilla”.

I think it would work well because it fits the shape of the pumpkin nicely, and is fitting for the monster.

The other nice thing is that for the design it only needs to be supported at about a 30 degree angle, and most of the material that is carved away should not compromise the structural integrity of the pumpkin.

The only holes that have to go all the way through are the nose and eyes. I suggest putting some dry ice behind the nose for smoke effect.

Christy, if you do like this design, and don’t see one you like better, please pass it along to the artist who carves her.

Ohh, and please take some good pictures no matter how she is carved. ;)

Scott Cully? What about Squashcarver? I was too busy congratulating her on a WR that I didn't even think to drop her a card! I guess it is the grower in me. I would say I am a better grower than businessman, but until I get that GPC jacket...LOL
