It's a 50 50 chance.
Only about half of the biggens have been weighed.
Christy's was the larest of the first half, who knows what the 2nd half will throw at us.

I'm still keeping meh guess on Ole Doc Liggett, no one deserves a biggen more then him.

Best of luck to all growers!

Even if it doesn't, she has the honor of holding the title at least for a while. Both Christy and Nick are class acts now associated with the term "heavy hitter".

whether it holds or not is of no matter. the excitment and feeling of the moment will stay with them the rest of there growing days.
a remarkable accomplishment no matter how long it lasts.

Pap is absolutely right, Christy is the Champ. Anyone who was at the weigh off & saw how giddy & nervous she was, as well as the look on Christy & Nic's faces when the scale read 1725 couldn't help but be happy for those two. And the last thing on our mind was will it hold.
Now will I be at Circleville on the 21st rooting Doc on? Yes...I've known Doc since I was 10 when he gave me my first pair of glasses & my roots are in Circleville.
But today is for Christy, not for what ifs. Hell, Darryl Crosby & myself drove 3 1/2 hours without a pumpkin to root Christy & Nic on, and it was worth every minute.
Congrats Christy.

WOW great job Christy . It is hard to imagine any one topping this. But who thought 1689 would be beaten

Yikes, that’s the same as the 1689, which was to Chart, now we got that volume, but HEAVY.

The shape of the 1725 looks nice too. No sag lines I could see in any pictures.

I have a little theory that as these things get bigger and bigger at the top end, that we will see more symmetrical shapes with less flaws, as the bigger they get the more important structural integrity gets.
