I want to thank everyone here for helping make my rookie year growing one to remember. I read alot of posts here and on the other sites to answer questions during the season, and I was greatly rewarded.
My first pumpkin harvested was my 1156 Hunt weighing 696lbs on day 53. It was exactly on chart.
My next one weighed at a local GPC event it was off the 1154 Doucet seed. It taped 1151 but ended up heavy at 1258. It also won the Howard Dill site award. I was surprised to say the least, a new state record my first year out. My first weighoff was great everyone there, growers to spectators made me and my family feel welcome. I met some great people and alot of other growers, made some new friends, and felt just like one of the boys that had been around for years. My hats off to everyone that was there.
My last pumpkin I took to our local agricultural fair to get it weighed. Grown from a 765 Privitera seed. It has 1068 in the genetics in it and it showed. Long, low, canaloping and a salmon color I figured it would go over the chart a little. It only taped 491 lbs but sent the numbers on the scale up to 622.5. 27% heavy.
I will be honest, I think I got really lucky this season and had some rough spells but almost always I could find some information on the site to help me figure out what needed to be done or that is wasn't a great concern. A big Thank You goes out to anyone who posts or helps other growers out especially newbies. May you all set a new PB, or Record and hope they all go heavy on the scale.

Rick, AWESOME year! And off a awesome growers seed. I know Mr Doucet is tickled pink you grown one that big off his seed!
