I gotta post this, If you visit someones patch & snap some pics you should ask the grower if he minds if you post them. Just throwing it out there.

Before anyone throws Rob under the bus he is a major part of the southern ohio crew and I'm sure he asked before posting. Doc's pumpkin is no secret, he posts his weekly weights on his fence so the community can view it. How do I know that? I was there two weeks ago LOL. I just didn't post any pictures.
Hey Don, Gene, Jerry, Dave, Christy, Tim and Doc:
Can I post the pictures from your big ones? LOL :-)

No comments on the original thread, but what a great pic of a great grower and a great friend.

Ok, here's my take Kelly. Yes Rob is a huge part of the Southern Ohio weighoff but NO, no permission was asked or given. And I believe this is because the grower doesn't want to "bad" if it doesn't make it to the scales or if it weighs light. It doesn't weigh anything till it hits the scales & we all remember past pumpkins thru the years that were hyped but fell short and the needling that followed ( unwarrented needling because the pumpkins were still huge but's that's just how society is). And yes he has a sheet outside his patch of the est. weights for the community to see but unless he has updated it in the last week( and he may have) the last update was a month back when it est. 1568 so the folks at the weighoff won't do the same thing as this site can do. You know the "" I thought he said it weighed 1700 lbs"". And no you didn't post any pics of any of the folks listed that you visited & I'm sure I know why....out of respect to the growers. After meeting you in New Bremen I can say that you are good guy that knows what those growers are going thru & don't want to add to their daily worries about the big ones in their patches. A lot of folks know about it from rumors & here say, but that's different than a pic that shows it & says stats from the grower. Ok, I'm done now & I hope they ALL weigh heavy. A one ton pumpkin is in the very near future at this rate.

Lets see , I had a large greenie in my patch and have posted no pictures. Those who I wanted to see the pictures I sent them to. Several people were in my patch and took pictures, none were ever posted.
Why I never wanted mine out there for everyone to see is it doesn’t matter till its weighed and something could go wrong. Like mine it did go wrong and went down early, I will post final pictures now, myself.
Now for others pumpkins, if the other people out there wanted their pumpkin pictures posted ITS THEIR JOB TO POST THEM. I’m sure lots of people have been to Jerry,Quinn,Alan and Cristy’s patch and the only pumpkin pictures of theirs is the ones they post.
Some people should think, if this was mine would I want someone else to come to my patch and post my pictures. Most would say no, I would like to post the pictures myself. This is not the first time something like this has been done and probably won’t be the last. If you visit someone else’s patch please treat it with the privacy it disserves.
