First off I need to thank all growers who came today. I believe we had about 35 pumpkins that either were for EXB or were weighed on the official scale.
Great group of guys and gals and I appreciate everyone offering to help.
I believe our event eclipsed the Top 10 average of any event in the region...in history. We've got some super good growers in the area and many up and comers. I think many of us found out today that 1000 isn't 1000 anymore :)
We weighed the biggest pumpkin ever grown in WI today and the #2 official all time in Wisconsin. We also weighed #2 all time in MN as well as #2 official. WI bumped ahead of MN slightly in the DMG category, but Chad still handles us in the official category. The question is will WI dethrone MN this coming weekend? Stay tuned.
So congrats to Chad and John Hopkins #1 and 2. John's 1364.5 (1500 Revier) was way heavy. Chad's own seeds went HEAVY today!
Congrats to everyone else as well. I'd like to thank all our long distance travelers from IA and SD. Thanks again to Dan and Marc and Kevin for repeat appearances.

Chad first place 3# short of the state record. 1425# on a 985 Werner.
Unfortunately there was a pin hole in the bottom of his 1207.

I'd put the weights in if I had them in front of me. I already put in a 14 hour shift today...little tired.
Off the top of my head:
Chad 1425 (985 Werner) John Hopkins 1364.5 (1500 Revier...HEAVY) Kevin Marsh 1325+- (985 Werner) Chris Stevens 1245.5 (1428 Revier (HEAVY)
Chris Stevens 1502 DMG stink bomb (672 Stevens). We weighed "most" of it.
Unfortunately I can't even remember who was 5th. I appologize. Might have been Bill Foss's 1207 Young fruit?
We'll get these up and running on the GPC page ASAP.

Chad's 1207 was about 1470ish I believe. The fruit was nice, but I believe there was a small dill ring underneath that was not noticeable from above. It met a deep rib.

Chris, it has truely been a great year watching so many growers like yourself reach new personal bests for family, clubs, states and even regions. Alot of time, dedication and sometime money gets put into this unique hobby while we are raising the kids and supporting families, and hold full time jobs.........not ALL of us are retired yet!! LOL. Just a few years back, that would have been a world record........we ARE getting closer thanks to growers like yourself.
Also a job well done to Chad, Bill, Kevin, John-Boy........and all the new growers at this "First Year" site!! I wish i could have been there!!
