Since I'm new to the sport of growing these monsters I think It would be good for a few senior members of the Board to go over the some Brief Weigh off rules and ettiquet with some of us newer growers as well as refresh the older growers on some common customs and courtesies that are to be extended at the weigh offs and after the weigh offs is done. It certainly is a fun time for everyone that is there. October 10th is coming closer and closer.

Tip your volunteers if you have a few extra bucks, perhaps pass a hat around amongst the growers. A thank you and/or handshake at a minimum.

Let the volunteers eat lunch after the weigh off, don't expect your pumpkins to be loaded immediately following the event.

Look for the "path" that the equipment operators will use between the pumpkins and the scales, stay clear and especially keep your children clear.

Kenny - make sure to meet Dick Wallace at Frerich's & also join the SNEGP. Have fun, be your self, & don't gush. You don't need to know anything else.

And Kenny, what he didnt tell you is that you have to wait out by the rode untill the weigh off is over also, you gotta make sure your there for the late comers and wait there to direct traffic for the pumpkins that have been loaded up and are leaving after the weigh off.

One thing ya got to remember is, dont bullship with the growers that have the big pumpkins in the back of the truck (coming or leaving) or you will hold up traffic that might cause a accident,,,(you can email them guys later, or maybe talk to them on the phone after its all over)

So you might miss the weigh off this year but next year you ought to have a blast,,,LOL!!!!!!!

Tell em Pap,,,lol!!
