I just got back my results from what will be my last tissue and soil test of the season. Calcium is showing very low and pH on soil test at 5.9. Lab is recommending an application of Dolomite. I did some research on an organic equivalent of Dolomite and found reference to a product called BorrePlex CA. Does anyone have any information on it? According to what I read it comes in a liquid form which would be helpful right now, since working into the soil would be very difficult. Any help would be appreciated.

Calcium lime is generally available at your local ag supply store. Calcium lime will work to resolve both needs.

Even dolomitic lime would be fine at pH 5.9. It will improve the magnesium levels too.
Forget liquid lime for fixing this major pH issue. Liquid lime is fast but you have all winter. Clear the patch. Spread 4-6" of aged manure & the prescribed amount of lime. Till it in & enjoy the results next season.

I still have pumpkins in the patch, so I was hoping to get something into the ground that would work quickly and help me finish out the season. Would liquid lime help in the short term, what are some product names I should look for?

Sandy, I used a product called CalMag. It is applied foliarly and works quite well. I picked it up at Everybody's Garden Center in Portland.

In reality, your plants need the best growing conditions through out the year, trying to adjust for Ph now is akin to shuting the door after the horse has bolted. Save your pennies and get it right next year.

I agree with Phil, with so little time left to this season I don't think any product will give noticable results. Do it right for next year!
