I asked a few days ago about my field pumpkins. The powdery mildew has infected each leaf, and is taking it down fast. I have many orange jack-o-lanterns, and some that need to mature a bit yet.
Should I be cutting the orange ones off, and storing them until Halloween? I've been told to rub them down with 10 ounces of water and 1 ounce of bleach? That right?
The weird thing is that my AG is right next to these infected plants, and shows NO disease whatsoever. Is it possible to have something with some resistence? I have applied fungicide to both at the same times, and the AG is green and healthy yet.
ALSO, it appears my AG has quit growing. Should I pick him off when the plant is still healthy and green? I haven't had luck saving them for very long.
Thanks to everyone for the advice over the years. Love this site.

Yeah, the AG is turning orange, and I don't smell anything, and it doesn't appear to be leaking anything anywhere.
Thanks.

AG's are more resistant to PM than field pumpkins but they're far from PM proof. Regardless now as your field pumpkins will mature whether on a healthy vine, diseased vine or just sitting on the garage floor.

I'll be picking and pulling vines tonight then.
How long should I leave the AG. Check it a few more days? Nice weather for next week yet, and one day of rain.
Thanks.
