Did they have multiple legs and had a hard shelled body? I had the same problem. I threw down some granular sevin. Hope that takes care of em.

I looked online and i believe this bug is called the common woodlouse. It is related to the crab family. It feeds on dead plants. I read that they arnt really harmful and dont really carry disease. however they are insects and can bring in things, good or bad. I'd kill em as soon as I see em!

A common woodlouse only has a few predators and their not bad to plants. One of the most common is the woodlouse hunter(woodlouse spider) They have a redish upper body and a whitish abdomen and BIG fangs. Woodlouse are actually benificial animals(their not insects). They are decomposers of dead plant material. We want those. :) Other common names others call woodlouse is potato bugs/pill bugs/rollypully. My kids love catching them. lol Here is a pic of a couple http://www.gardensafari.net/pics/duizendpoten/shiny_woodlouse.jpg
