Over the course of the past few weeks, Mark Shymanski and I have been working on the all inclusive database of vegetable records. From the longest bean, tallest sunflower, heaviest squash, ect, all will be on a list of results of officially weighed or measured specimens by vegetable or fruit type. Mark has been doing the comparitive research on making sure we are all measuring things by the same standards and I have been documenting the data. As for the rules to be on the lists, the specimen must be weighed or measured at an official location with a photo and/or witnesses. No asking a beer buddy to go along with a 'fish tale' and claim a 400 pound head of cabbage. Start emailing me with your results and I will continue to scrounge through BP.com, other websites, and old newsletters for official results. Once we get a good solid foundation I will be posting the lists on my website. My email address is [email protected] Remember, this is all inclusive, I have records dating back to the 1800's. IT has been fun so far, and it is time to let everyone else in on it now. Let me know whats out there.... Questions and suggestions are also welcome... By the way, I have over 5000 pumpkins, 800 squash, 500 watermelons, 100 cantelopes, ect..

Brett, you might want to check out:
http://egvga.webs.com/records.htm
Got some categories you don't have and perhaps some of the 2009 records you don't have yet. You might want to check it again in a month or so as two or three world records are expected to fall in the next few months.
Also: http://egvga.webs.com/infolinks.htm [Facts & Figures]

http://egvga.webs.com/top10.htm
The European results listed are all official results, either at an official weigh-off or with the use of pictures and witnesses (signed certificates).
Hope this helps.
