I wanna hear thei one..Here in R.I. We've had a tough summer with the rain and the sun hibernating..But no excuses!!!! Who wants to start this one out......!!!

There probibly are several growers that have big'uns hiding in there patchs this year. I think you would have to figure Don Young or Quinn to go big on the scales.

The Puyallup Fair is today. That might give us a preview... My vote is with the Pacific Northwest.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say its going to come from some where near Massillon Ohio, that I predict will be in the 1600's.
And even though Massillon has never had a real good high school football team, that has nothing to do with my prediction,,,baaaa HAHAHA!!
I think your going to see your biggest pumpkin yet come out of the state of Colorado, And a couple guys from PA ,WA and MN . Its going to be fun to see how the chips fall this year.

I'll go out a limb too (Brooks always forgets that Canada exists) and say that there will some huge pumpkins coming out of Vancouver Island...no real surprise with the great growers on the Island...but there will be some biguns at Nanaimo this year!!

I think in this day in age, 1500 is the new 1000, if you get what I mean. The genetics are to that point where most controlled seeds should produce 1000lbs., enviromental factors considered of course. Those growers hitting 1500++ are the new big dogs.

WOW...A few weeks ago is roughly 35 days and that would be around August 7th...that is a big 1400lb pumpkin by now in NY! Should be 1900 by now!

I heard there was one in Illinois at over 1500 on August 31.
Then you got that big one in Iowa. Then theres this one in Ohio Tom B. just posted about in his diary.
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=120183

If theres pumpkins this big in the Midwest I can only imagine all the big ones coming out of the northwest, cause they've had better weather. I think the 1689 is definitely going down.

That one in Tom B.'s diary is HUUGE.

Tom B's Diary looks like Christy's 1385 a bit, 3 white hoop rings and red cloth ties on the rings...hmmmmmm and the guy is also like 10 ft from the pumpkin reaching out....

Records are made, and records are made to be broke. It's just a part of life!

It would be a total drag to have a monster pumpkin almost word class record breaker. Only to have it go down to a disease or rot.
