If you couldn't have a 845 Bobier, 846 Calai, 898 Knauss, or 723 Bobier in your seed's pedigree which seed would you plant?

The Lloyd/Mettler cross is hard to avoid today. I'll bet no one can name a desirable seed that doesn't have at least two of the seeds you named in it's hierarchy tree.

801 Stelts, and 940 Mombert 98 would be my choices. Both produced great color and size.

Good calls but they're both getting hard to find now.
Keep in mid the 810 Dill has 567.5 Mombert just like all of these.
The 712 Kuhn has 935 Lloyd for some common parentage.
We look far enough back, most paths eventually cross.
