I'd like to know from some of you growers. I've been adding Potash for about a week. The pumpkin has been growing steady. The packaging instructions said 1 pound to every 100 feet. I have 3 plants. I've consentrated most of my time on one that is almost 500 lbs. I know that as pumpkin growers we rely on much higher amounts. We walk the wire between to little and to much. Can anyone tell me how much and when do they add there potash. My pumpkin was not growing, after adding the potash i finally got the growth back...

the only way of answering that is on what your soil sample says as to how much to add,,, do you have a soil reading to go by as a guide line to be able to know how much to add?,, if not, we would be just guessing as to what to tell you Kenny.

I agree with Brooks. I don't use much Potash anymore and just mainly give them stumps compost tea (3-5 Gallons) mixed with 3 TBSP of a F/SW mix. This time of year, I add a little Miracle Grow as a trick to "kick" the plant into growing more...seems to work on watermelon...not sure on pumpkins.
