This plant has/is diseased and I think that is what is causing the fruit to abort.
I may have to rip it out

Sounds like to much. In the early season i usually have a fruit that wont take and it dies out i believe that its way to much nitrogen. I always get way to crazy with the fertilizer early on. It appears that your getting a late start to say the least.

This plant has been in the ground since late May but got a late start.
Its also got a case of angular leaf spot disease.
The plant has really taken off in the last two weeks but not so much for the fruit. Also the weeds have taken off too and its getting hard to weed in there as I have other vine plants in that area.

Maybe but I had pumpkins forming on it as far back as early July.
My other plant is virtually dead but it already produced the pumpkin I harvested.
Last year I had my remaining plants recover and pick back up in October.
Still a chance for a decent pumpkin on this plant. Will get pics later.
