I have one fruit @ day 42, two @ day 32 and one @ day 30. Obviously by the Day numbers I got a late start. One measures about Day 42 fruit measuring about 270"OTT First day 32 fruit measuring about 260"OTT
Second day 32 fruit about 242"OTT
and day 30 fruit about 205"OTT
What does anyone think approximate daily inch gains can be for say the next 25 days? Plants are very healthy. (probably just shot myself in the foot there!)but the temps are seeming to drop toward the low to mid 70's for the next week and who knows there after!
Any input welcome!

a lot of future growth will be dictated by the weather you have moving forward. on nights when the temp is below 60 id advise putting a blanket on her. - remove daily am. let the sun hit the fruit on days when the temp is in the low seventies or lower. depending on your plant, fruit and soil condition, combined with age of pumpkin you can expect anywhere from a low of 150 pounds to a high of 300+ in september. based on your late pollinations you could get lucky and pick up at the higher end of my estimations. need good weather and warm nights to do that. pap

Thanks pap. I have been putting the blankets on and off for the last 5 days now. The shade cloth I use, lets a little bit of sunlight through, but blocks the direct beam of the hot mid day sun. As for good weather and warm nights, based on the weather pattern here in the NE I will settle for the low end if I can get it. That time of year when it starts cooling off pretty good here and... well I can't say we are entering the rainy season again since our first rainy season has still not ended. I will take what I get for this year and hope for the best next year. I have reached my goal of beating my PB, so now I am working on rasing the bar for myself next year!!
Thanks again

It's sunny out today and I left the blankets on as it's not supposed to get above 70. Just trying to keep that extra warmth and the weight gains up without loosing much for the next couple of days. Once we get past today and tomorrow, the coverings will come off. Probably will take them off tomorrow if it gets above 70 during the day. Great advice, thanks pap...

go out and throw some tarps over the blanket over the pumpkins. extra warmth trapping...less dew on the blanky!

I tried something new yesterday. I will see how it worked in a little bit. I put the blankets on a little earlier with about 4 hours of daylight to go. I figure if they got a little warmer before the sun went down, they would stay a little warmer longer.
