Rhode Island

you heard it here first

1. a female grower could break into the gpc top five this year.possibly win it all.
2. the 1385 jutras should place a minimum of four pumpkins in the gpc top ten.(possibly five of ten)
3. the 1385 will become the number one seed of all time -edging out its mother the 1068.
4. a very large man will bring a truely large pumpkin to win the topsfield fair. and he deserves it.
5. there will be at least four pumpkins over 1,600 pounds grown but none will beat the 1689 current world record.
6. the west coast area will have a few contending monsters at most every weighoff.their loaded.
7. ohio/pa area growers have monsters everywhere.they will be tough to beat as a group.to many good growers.
8. don young should once again find himself with a gpc top ten entry.
9. weigh-offs in the new england area will be not have the volumn of pumpkins they have enjoyed in years past but, there still may be a few suprises at several weigh-offs.
10. if you lineed up blossom to stem all the bombs from ohio/pa on out to the pacific north west ? you would have enough huge specimins to cross the state of ri. ( ps-leave one in my patch please )

1. Ain't me :( I know several that could and deserve to.
4. A few candidates there, heh. (don't wear an orange shirt unless you wanna get lifting ring straps around your ??? <heh>)
5. Dunno about 1600# plus but there should be some to be proud of showing up soon.
8. Don's gonna do something, keep an eye on his patch :)
10. Cimarron County is 1.5 x the size of Rhode Island, or has 2.0 x the land area. You are welcome to come on out for the 5-State Cimarron Weighoff (we almost got enough for gas money for first now); we'd make our RI bro's and sis's welcome, SNGPG kin, and everyone else too.
#7, 9, and 10... Don't discount the KY, WV and Carolinas this year either.

Go Pap Go!

That would be cool! I can't wait to see results this fall. Sadly sitting on a 500 pounder plus pumpkin at this point in the season, I don't know if I have a shot at 1000 pounds this year. If our weather holds, maybe! It's been a tough season weather wise, and I am happy I have 3 happy pumpkins out of four in the patch. Now if they hold together til weigh off, slow and steady!

My prediction. Weigh-offs are a long ways away....scary how some of these kins will keep putting on weight when they are already estimated, through OTT, very high...Keep them growing but just enough so they don't split...

Let me add another unless I get 40 more lbs, the Oklahoma Sr will remain unbroken this year. :(

Go Pat Go, I truely have wished you luck. Despite our huge amount of trash talk and smack being tossed.

I have a herd, and a couple still going for it and close to two months yet... ain't over 'til it's over.

I went out and measured tonight and I believe I am up to 611. I taped it twice to make sure. I need 30 moe lbs.

Thanks for the support Debbie, it has been a LONG season, the fruit is on day 82, at WO time it will be day 118. That's a LONG time to keep this thing growing.
