I had a idea, you know the local Mpls. St'Paul Mn news, when they do the weather, they go out the door outside and there in the back yard, they give there weather report from outside, in the fall they have in the background bails of hey, corn stalks harvested foods, would'nt it look great with a 1,000 pound pumpkin in the background, I think it would give the news station more viewers and would help advertise the giant pumpkin growing sport. Mine will only be 200 pounds this year, won't have the efect of seeing a 1,000 pounder up there. Thanks, just another great idea from yours truly (Joking about the yours truly part)

I agree Richard B......That Richard B. has a great idea there. Someone with a big pumpkin needs to contact the correct person/s at the station. It would be cool to say "that's my pumpkin on the news".

I think it's KARE 11... and I think they get the plants from Linder's, where I worked this spring. Talk to Alex B, I think he displayed a pumpkin at their garden center last year so they may already have the idea in their heads and with a little work it could be done.

That is a great idea. I won't have any that make 1000 pounds this year, but it is a great idea.
