Has anyone used Silica or Silicon in the fertilizing routine? ..or otherwise, as a pumpkin wash?

surprising question you do your homework, I tried to get some chicken crumbles this spring that were going to contain some silica,,the fertilizer plant wasn't able to start that production yet unfortunately

not sure about a wash though, I think hoping to get it into the fruit cells through the skin is dreaming

I worry about raising the pH too much by using it and also the accumulated salt. I think its worth a try though, considering silica protects the plant from so many things.

builds strong cells from what I hear, the amount to use is very small from the fellow that I talked to about it
