To late growers should produce two more decent size pumpkins for holloween. Pumpkin #1 is 19 inches day 7 and pumpkin #2 is 11 inches day 4. Just what I wanted, survival story intact.

I imagine you got a lot of plant pushing them, and they will alos provide you with seeds as well.
I figure even if a fruit gets a late start, and that limits the upper size of what the plant has time to do, the genetics are still every bit as good.
If a plant grows a 1200 pound Pkin, x self, are those genetics any better/worse than if the plant later grows 2 x self that only weigh 200 pounds at the end of the season? I think just as good.

With what this plant went through, there may be some pretty hardy genetics in the making. All the push is from new recent growth that took off like crazy after the major surgery on it.
