ok its mid august. most giants have reached their peak and next week will start the downword cycle.
some may have already? (i know we all expect another week of top daily averages but thats not usuually the case now is it?)

in new england this year i really think ct will bring a few monsters to the scales at durham and beyond. from all i have heard and seen they are the state to beat in the new england area.i wish them nothing but the best.

matt debacco and the team pumpkin guys have started to realize the fruits ( no pun intended )of their labor.

much like we in the sngpg did in 2005 they have banded together, helped one another, reviewed, studied and shared as much information on the subject as possible.
my hats off to them. heres hoping they can bring um home.

what has the rumor mill ground out in your neck of the woods? curious minds want to know?

whos hiding in that bunker ? or laying in the weeds ready to pounce come weigh off day? whos quietly listening to all the rumors knowing they may have us all beat? who is complaining they are not having a good season when actually nuttin could be further from the truth? and no, its not me. i have a 700 pounder doing 23 a day. im not going far, if it makes it at all.

to be in the running for top three or so in the world ya gots ta be tapeing at least in the mid to high nines now and still doing close to 30 a day?

lets hear it from somebody who may know something ? anything? make up a lie if ya have to? lol

I had a monster going, then one night out of the blue some drunk naked guy soaked in weed killer ran wildly through my patch and wiped everything out. When I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing he said “I robbed a jewelry store and told the clerk to gimmee a beer!” And took off.

I know.

Any info on who it might’ve been would be greatly appreciated.

The way I hear it, Longmont Pete's got one growing in the patch next to his house. It's getting so big, he's looking into moving the whole house over two or three feet to give it room to grow . . .

Pap,
I heard some good rumors about the possiblity of more than a few big ones coming out the pacific northwest. The info came from a reliable source who I just happened to run into at a recent weigh-off. This person who I got the info from got the info first hand from a grower out there in the PNW. I don't want to jinx anyone so I'm not going to name names, but I'm just saying...my money this year is on the growers from the PNW to grow the big one or two!!

Let's see Hester split his #4 at almost 400 OTT in the 3rd week of August. Jim is inviting all growers to Oregon for a big pay out this fall... sounds like the invitation the Mexican army gave the guys at the Alamo?!?!?!?!?

It seems there could be many big ones out there with great potential. The western U.S., western Canada, the central states(SD, MN, IA, IL, and WI), Ohio and PA, and I wouldn't count out some of the eastern U.S. growers. With all the great seeds out there, and improving cultural practices, this season could rival 2007.
