In the Northwest we went through this just last week. Although 70 as a low matched an all time high for an overnight low. Pumpkins handled it just fine. They just make a little fire and huddle around it together to keep warm.

At least Ohio has finally gotten some higher low temperatures.
Nic, I saw that you figured out what the problem had been with your leaves from your diary. I'm having the same problem with leaves, it looks almost identical to yours, except mine have problems before the pumpkin. Not to hi-jack your thread, but do you mind sharing your advice?

Well my fear became a reality last night my biggest pumpkin split wide open on a dill ring. Day 44 700 est on its way to 1000. I feel sad/mad but it was just a pumpkin.

Yikes! We're finally getting some wonderful Summer temps this past couple of weeks. I've been watching pumpkins carefully for any potential splits with all the rain we've been getting but so far as good. At what point in the summer months would you still cover the pumpkins up when the night time temps are in the 50's. We had that in June and July. Parlty why my pumpkins are still in the 300 pound range this year, when this time last year I had 500 plus pounds. Weird weather.

I'd take that weather any day here! Send it our way!
How about 70 for a low then 52? That was this past Sunday / Monday. That's normal here.
