I'm at day 26 with 92" cc with only 3" cc gains a day now. my plant, stump ect is in good shape, my soil is optimal, weather is fair. good seed 1502 wallace. the only thing that I Know to be off is that I have been unknowingly spraying way to much systemic pesticide but except for complete absence off pests my plant looks fine. is this my problem with growth or possibly something else or did I just pollunate a slow pumpkin?

thanks for trying to encourage me pap. I know that these #'s are not bad for the day if I was still doing 4"cc a day I would feel great but at only 3"cc a day now I will not break 1000lbs as I really wanted to and it's frustrating to see a dream slowly inch away

still a long time until the scales, keep the plant healthy, stick with your program, get some luck from "Mother" and you should be fine,,

the #'s are just that,,,pushing fruit will usually get you in trouble

remember the charts are a "tool" not a "rule"

It's the sunlight! Haven't you noticed, the days are getting shorter. You need to go out and get some really bright lights and light that patch up early in the morning and again at night. Keep the photosynthesis going for 16 hours a day like it does in late June. Your plant will be rocking! Really, my two largest should be at about the same size as yours when I check later today. One is just at 26 days and the other is a week older. Every pumpkin grows at it's own pace. I do nothing different for any of my plants, other than what has to be different to manage their growth because of their own inherent differences. My growth rates have slowed this week too, but I attribute it to more clouds and cooler temperatures, the week before I was attributing it to the extreme heat. We finally got some rain starting yesterday and next week the heat should come back so I'm hoping for good growth. I want that four digit mark on the scales this fall too. We may both get our wish, or not. Theres a lot of growing season left and good things can happen in August, and September too.
