Today we were able to go to our house and grab some items. I was totally stunned by what I saw. Even after 108f+, heavy smoke and no water for two weeks...The 275 and 1017 survive, I was for sure my season was over...
275 Van Hook. Pollinated July 22. 12 Feet out. Pollinated with the 498 Van Hook. Day 16 EST 97Lbs.
Here's my problem, since I wasen't there to see how it was growing it developed a Dill Ring right in the center making the back side of the pumpkin larger. Though the sides of the pumpkin seem to have healed over the Dill Ring, is it still possible for this to happen on the top?

Dill Ring is an internal defect....

Shot of the inside of the pumpkin showing the ring.
If you have deep ribbing the pumpkin can pinhole or crack where rib fissures and Dill Ring cross.

Its probably not a "Dill ring", it probably is misshapen from not having enough water. Pumpkins can grow like this they just end up being odd shaped, kinda like peanuts in the shell.

That is not a surprize comming from that seed. The Surgeon General has determined that excessive spirit consumption during pregnancy causes the higher possibility of birth defects....considering the way Festus and Cletus hit the jug and the plants with the jug its no surprise..... http://bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=65414
