It's never "too late", but as each day passes, the overall wieght of the pumpkin greatly dimishes. However, I see no reason why at 30 days out from today, given good weather, you couldn't be at 300 to 400 pounds.

keep going any thing is better than nothing, a lot of growers pollinate late just for genetics.

Last year we pollinated on July 28 and ended up with an 835 pounder. the thing about it was that the pumpkin stopped growing 2 weeks early when Hurrican Ike came through and destroyed 2/3 of our plant and the power was out and we had no water for 8 days. If you pollinate soon I still think you can make 7-800 if you have the weather needed.
