My condolences Robert. We here in the midwest and especially those in the northeast have been battling wet, cool weather. It all started out to be a dream season weather-wise and went south in a hurry during the month of July. I attribute it to global warming(just kidding-please don't ostracize me everyone).
Without knowing how large your pumpkins were before going south, or photos to accompany your post, it's hard to say what went wrong. I tend to believe as you do-too wet.
Take heart Robert. Many growers have had such seasons, only to bounce back and have a great one the next.
Hope your able to reverse things and get at least SOMETHING this year. My best to you and yours.

Can you get another pumpkin started? Something is better than nothing. I feel your pain after all the hard work.
