can someone take a look at my latest pics and tell me which stem is in a better position

First one looks OK. 2nd one looks even better: the vine curves away at both sides and should give less stem stress problems. Just make sure you raise the vines up with blocks of styrofoam so the stem doesn't have to grow down to stay of the vine.

Support the pumpkin that has the split on the main vine so it doesn't twist..maybe cut a few leaves off so it doesn't sway and wok the split more...mark
