heavey hitters 300lbs + me 60lbs and I still may break 1000lbs

I think most heavy hitters aim for 400 pounds by Aug 1. Last year I was about 35 pounds Aug 1 and ended up with 525 and 400 on the same plant.

Actually, depends on where you are growing...in MN, we have a short growing season..it needs to be around 800 by Aug 1st....my record setting year (2007) I was 869...this year around 600lbs...so tough to catch that if August turns colder than our coldest July...high of 83 degrees was the hottest day all month!!! Good luck! I have blankets on the pumpkins tonight...upper 40s.
