He wanted the results of his study to be kept quiet ("for your eyes only") but is willing to put together a newsletter in "layman's terms" if there is enough interest. I'm sure there is and I, for one, will write him back to see if he'll put something together that can be posted here. It's interesting reading. A lot has to do with the mechanics of pumpkin shapes as they get bigger, and the forces acting on the pumpkin. I don't think there's anything that will help growers get bigger pumpkins, but I'll have to read it a few more times to digest the technical stuff.

Nothing fishy about it at all. He's completely above board and doesn't want his paper released until he gets it published. He's looking for more government funding to keep his research going, and agrees to put together something that can be posted here. Stay tuned...

I believe this is the fellow who spent the day with us in 2007 collecting measurements & weights? If so the data is already public right here at BP & the AGGC. What he derives from the data should be available to those who have already cooperated.

I'd love to see his results when he's ready.
