The 1055.3 Jutras and the 1272 Brunst are 1689 x 1631 crosses, but they looking very different.
One has yellow torpedo shape and one white wheel shape.

1446 Werner and 893 Privitera are also same crosses and came up with different looking (shape) and color fruit.
(998 Pukos x 1068 Wallace).

Genetics can be a strange thing with pumpkins.

It's kind of like cousins, how much do you look like yours. Even though they're more closely related. Suppose your dads brother married your moms sister. Do your uncle and aunt look exactly like your parents? How much do you resemble your siblings? How much different would they're kids look compared to your family? Ever see those families with all the fair haired blue eyed kids and the one thats dark haired and dark eyed or vice versa? Or the tall skinny family with the one short fat kid? That's not always adoption or someone fooling around, that's the genetic crapshoot. That's why one time I planted the old 837 Thorson seed and got a nice green squash, and I plant another one a couple years later and get pale orange pumpkins. Same thing happens with the 900.5 Lyons. There's probably newer examples of the same thing. As long as your planting for pumpkins, and getting pumpkins you're OK. It's when you plant for squash and get pumpkins that's a bummer.

My wife is a red-head, with very light colored skin. Her sister, her TWIN, born from the same mom on the same day (duh) has very dark brown hair and very dark complexion skin.

Remember, every single seed, every seed in every pumpkin is different.
