My vines are growing at a torid rate. "Punky" has slowed to a half inch growth rate per day, but vines in front and behind her are growing wildly. Despite cutting her back as much as I had to, and all the ya da ya da i've told you all, I now have a couple hundred new leaves before punky, and they are growing rapidly. Beyond her is even more impressive growth occuring everyday. It is producing several female flowers along with males and I will be polinating most of them. I would not have guessed this plant would still be producing so many of them this late. I have pinched off 10 or so and I have 6 growing now, one of which can be pollinated in the nexr few days. I don't know how long they'll go, but i'm letting this plant do what it wants, not what I want it to do.

Oh..I forgot to mention the main vine has grown nearly 4 feet this week with no signs of slowing down. Several of it's numerous side chutes are growing at a rate of more than 4" a day.

Thanks for cheers y'all, i'm proud despite my pea size pumpkins. I've managed to keep a plant alive despite being right on the brink of death. Don't ask me how I know that, afterall i'm a first yer grower, but i'm certain these plants can't withstand much more than this one has gone through..I learned a lot to store for next year. The most valueble lesson liarned is not the borers, but how the plant reacts and responds. I'm "in tune" with it. I'm sure you experience growers know exactly what I mean by that.

It looks like you're getting hooked Pumpkinator! The first season is when you do the most learning no matter how big the pumpkin gets and one of the most exciting seasons you'll ever have too. Now use the rest of this year and the off season to learn how to prevent the problems you encountered this season and next year at this time you may be on your way to a 1000+ lber. But don't worry there will be lots of new problems next year. lol
