I noticed my pumpkin plant that is growing from south to north is growing alot better than the plant growing east to west. Is there any signifigants to it, studys on it, preference. Signed, to much time on my hands today.

If you got that much time on your hands, you need to go weed. Better yet, come here and I'll let you weed. :)
Makes sense that more of the E-W plant gets the hot afternoon sun directly on it... ? My .000002 cents worth.

Hey...some folks dowse their seeds,,,they also dowse their patch seeking to find converging lines of energy,,,others plant by the signs.
For years I called it all snake oil. Then a customer proved me wrong. He taught me that I can dowse for water & buried pipes with amazing accuracy. I was in disbelief but a fellow BP grower clued me in to "dark energy".
I cannot explain these things but I know there is something to it.

no dowsing needed in ri this season. east, west, north, up the side of the barn, out into the road, it would not matter . for sh##s and giggles --------- i always liked my plants facing south south. rons 1502 and my 4150 were grown on plants facing south. may be not sugnificant ,just a gut feeling. this year we have six plants facing south and six plants facing north ( back to back ) nothing unusual about either side of the patch plant /pumpkin wise.

For pumpkins it wouldn't matter as the leaves form a fairly flat surface. Wine grapes form rows with gaps in between, so they are planted north to south to benefit from the east to west sun.

I try to plant mine towards where the sun comes up. I have had plants where I didnt do this and one side of the plant grows great while the other side not as good. But then again I have done this and both sides have grown good,,lol. For me they just seem to grow better when I grow them towards where there sun comes up.

The plants that face east west in my patch have grown better than the ones facing north south. The hidden energy is a much talked about topic and I agree it has its merit for sure, anything to help pack on the pounds!

I would recommend considering the prevailing wind direction too.

Not enough sun here this year to determine if N to S or E to W has any effect!!
