My plants are 2 to 3 weeks behind schedule as are my pollinations. In the long run would a July 1st pollination sitting in cooler weather be better than a July 17th pollination who has the perfect pumpkin weather?

I would guess you'd want the perfect weather to be when the pumpkin hits about day 20-25 or so, when the pumpkin gains start to ramp up. Of course if your July 17 pollination had perfect weather from the start to the end, that may be better.

ill take the july 1st any day over the 17th it takes a while for the fruit to get into a grove and the later you start the longer you get into the season before it figures out what it should be doing. even in ideal weather a late pollination still take 30 plus days to get into a good growth pattern
